Selective Racking: The most common type of racking system, which allows direct access to each pallet. It´s versatile and can be used in various warehouse environments.
Drive-In/Drive-Thru Racking: Designed for high-density storage, this system allows forklifts to drive directly into the rack to access pallets. Drive-in racking has only one entry and exit point, while drive-thru racking has entry and exit points on both ends.
Push Back Racking: Utilizes a system where pallets are placed on a series of nested carts that move along inclined rails. When a new pallet is added, it pushes the previous pallets back, allowing for efficient use of space.
Pallet Flow Racking: Also known as gravity flow racking, this system uses inclined roller tracks that allow pallets to flow from the loading end to the picking end. It’s suitable for FIFO (first in, first out) inventory management.
