We receive a lot of questions by the patients that they are scared of getting Hijama done . It is natural to be scared of bleeding or getting cut by a blade. But the good news is that the Hijama is not painful and there is nothing to be scared of! The incision that is made is very shallow and to the first layer of skin. Most of the time, you cannot even feel the incision. Most of the patients refer to the feeling as scratching and even tickling! Meaning... it does not hurt! Sometimes, the incisions/scabs may sting a bit or feel slightly sore after the treatment for about 24 hours; especially behind the legs, hips or any other area that might rub against any surface when sitting down. The point of this message is to encourage those who are bit scared of this treatment, to have it done. Hijama is called the best remedy for all disease in Hadith. So if Hijama was going to be harmful for us, it would not have been encouraged by Allah (SWT) and His Messenger (PBUH). The benefits to your health really will outweigh any temporary pain or discomfort you might feel during and after the treatment.
